What is Miniroos?
MiniRoos is Football Victoria's name for the name for boys and girls soccer at the sub junior level (Under 7/8 - Under 11). We also include our our young juniors (U12) in this grouping for training as they also play 1/2 pitch games. Smaller fields, modified rules and fewer players mean a more enjoyable game with more opportunities to touch the ball and more opportunities to score goals, once again increasing the likelihood of an overall positive experience.
As your child progresses through the various age groups they will be introduced to playing environments that most suit their stage of development and prepare them for the transition to 11v11 football (from U14s) when the time comes.

Standard Program: Grading/Trials and Team Allocation
Pre-season training will commence late January/early Feb 2025. We do not run trials for players in our Standard Programs. Instead all players are observed during this pre-season period by our Technical Director and licenced coaches. This gives them more time to understand all players skill development/stage. Players will start to be moved into groups during training as they continue to be observed in a variety of scenarios. Ultimately players will be grouped into teams in March. This process means all kids are placed in teams to be suit their development. As a result, we are not able to accommodate team requests.
